Zygomatic implants are a specialized type of dental implant designed for patients with severe bone loss in the upper jaw where traditional implants are not possible. Instead of anchoring into the jawbone, these longer implants are anchored into the cheekbone (zygoma), which has greater bone density.

This technique eliminates the need for bone grafting and allows for immediate restoration in many cases, making it an effective option for patients with extreme maxillary resorption or failed previous implant attempts.
