Rhinoplasty Revision
Revision rhinoplasty is a secondary or corrective surgery performed on patients who have previously undergone a rhinoplasty but are dissatisfied with the results — either aesthetically, functionally, or both. It is often a more complex procedure than the initial surgery due to changes in tissue, scar formation, or altered nasal anatomy.
Reasons for revision may include:
• Unsatisfactory cosmetic outcome (asymmetry, irregularities, unnatural appearance)
• Functional issues (breathing difficulties)
• Over- or under-correction of the original concern
Revision rhinoplasty often requires cartilage grafts, usually harvested from the ear or rib, to rebuild structural support. The procedure demands advanced surgical skill and meticulous planning.
Recovery can be similar to the first surgery, though swelling may last longer. As with all nasal procedures, final results may take several months to a year to fully manifest.
